She was born Rachel Meghan Markle on 4 August 1981, in Los Angeles. As an actress, Meghan was known for her role as Rachel Zane in the American television drama Suits. Markle met Prince Harry in 2016, and became Duchess of Sussex upon their marriage in 2018. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, was born in 2019, and in 2021 it was revealed they were expecting a baby girl. In 2020 the couple stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family and moved to the US. The Duchess supports a number of charitable causes and organisations, including the arts, access to education, support for women and animal welfare. Together with Prince Harry, Meghan has founded Archewell Inc., a Beverly Hills-based public organisation involved with non-profit and creative media activities.
