About our Ihor Kolomoisky news

Latest news on Ihor Kolomoisky, a Ukrainian-Israeli-Cypriot billionaire who has been involved in various business sectors, such as media, oil and banking. He is also a former governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region and a one-time supporter of President Volodymyr Zelensky. He is considered to be one of the most powerful and controversial oligarchs in Ukraine.

On September 2, 2023, Ihor Kolomoisky was formally presented with fraud and money laundering charges by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). He is accused of transferring $14 million abroad using banks he controlled between 2013 and 2020. He was ordered to be held in custody for two months and his lawyers said he would not post bail and would appeal against the court order.

In July 2023, he reportedly lost his Ukrainian citizenship due to his Israeli and Cypriot passports, as Ukraine does not allow dual nationality. In 2021, he was sanctioned by the US for alleged "significant corruption" during his time as governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region. He has denied any wrongdoing.
