About our Arctic news

Latest news on the Arctic, a polar region in the northern hemisphere, with updates on resources control, international agreements and the climate crisis.

The eight Arctic nations (Canada, Kingdom of Denmark [Greenland & The Faroe Islands], Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Russia, and USA) are all members of the Arctic Council, as are organisations representing six indigenous populations. Much work remains on regulatory agreements regarding shipping, tourism, and resource development in Arctic waters.
